Seabiscuit was a legendary racehorse who rose from obscurity to become a national hero in the 1930s. He was born in 1933, a grandson of the famous Man o’ War, but he was small, clumsy, and often overlooked. He started his career with poor results, until he was bought by Charles Howard, a wealthy businessman who hired Tom Smith, a skilled trainer, to transform him. Under Smith’s guidance, Seabiscuit developed into a powerful and agile runner, who won many prestigious races and set several records. He also had a remarkable rivalry with War Admiral, another grandson of Man o’ War, whom he defeated in a thrilling match race in 1938.
